Ronan comes from Dublin, Ireland. He graduated from the University of Wolverhampton, UK in 2000. After graduating, Ronan worked in the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) before moving to Malaysia in 2003. He has been teaching English in Malaysia for twelve years to all ages and nationalities. His passion for teaching and improving the way in which English is taught led him to create The Emphasis Method and to establish Emphasis English Academy to practice and promote that methodology.
Teacher India is from Sheffield, England. She has a degree in Combined Studies, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a CELTA and an MA in Writing. India has been teaching a variety of age groups and subjects since 1993. One of India’s most notable positions was running an education centre at Sheffield United Football Club. India is a keen cyclist and an accomplished musician. She is a very creative person and who uses her natural creativity to enliven her lessons and make them engaging and interactive for her students.
Andrew is from St. Helen's, near Manchester in England and he holds a Bachelor of Arts from Manchester Metropolitan University. He also has a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PGCE level 5 equivalent). Andrew is a very friendly guy who loves music and film. He's a fun teacher who quickly develops a great rapport with his students and encourages them to participate fully in class.
Steve was born in Scotland and grew up in Coventry, England. Steve has a Bachelor of Science degree from Sheffield University and three certificates in Teaching English as a Second Language. Steve has been teaching English since 2012 in various countries in Asia. Steve is a very patient teacher who is always very supportive of his students.
Teacher Bernie is from Perth in Australia. She has a degree in Language Studies and a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education. Bernie has taught in international schools in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates before coming to Malaysia. Bernie has a child-centred approach to education, incorporating cooperative and differentiated learning strategies in the classroom. She is a highly-motivated and enthusiastic educator who wants to see all students reach their fullest potential.
